NEW NATIONAL POETRY COMPETITION ANNOUNCED FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS THIS SUMMER!

With sunshine on the way, The Ice Co wants to know what makes summer cool for kids! Whether it’s enjoying an ice-cold drink in the garden, jumping into the pool on holiday, listening out for the ice cream van, or slurping on an ice-lolly, they’re calling on young writers to put pen to paper and describe the coolest summer they can imagine.

Launching on National Ice Cube Day (21st June), and running until the 1st of July, the school with an extra special entry will win an amazing £500 worth of art supplies, along with a special visit from The Ice Co’s very own Ice Cube Dude!

For those schools interested in participating, entry details can be found below.

  • In under 100 words, entrants must write a poem about a ‘cool summer’.
  • Submit your child/student’s entry, together with their name, school and age to theiceco@hatch.group.
  • Entries must be received by midnight on 1st July 2024.
  • The lucky winner will be notified on 4th July 2024 via the email provided.

Lucy Redman, Marketing Manager at The Ice Co comments: “For us, this competition is all about encouraging school children to get creative and reflect on their exciting summer ahead. Children have wonderful imaginations so it’s exciting to see where their creativity might take them, and as ice is a fundamental part of summer, we expect to see lots of cool ice references in there too!”
