WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY OBSERVANCES GET A BOOST FROM NEW TEACHING RESOURCES BY DISCOVERY EDUCATION

 

To help primary schools observe World Mental Health Day, global edtech leader Discovery Education today unveiled a new collection of digital resources supporting pupils’ mental health and wellbeing.

 

Available via Discovery Education’s award-winning digital learning programmes Espresso and Health and Relationships, the new resources give primary schools high-quality digital content to engage young people during World Mental Health Day and throughout the school year.

 

Taking place on 10th October, World Mental Health Day is an international day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy. In recognition of World Mental Health Day, Discovery Education presents the following collection of curriculum-matched resources:

 

  • World Mental Health Day Lessons – available in Espresso Calendar Picks, differentiated by Key Stage. These lessons help teachers and pupils observe the event and explore why taking care of mental health is so important.
  • Everyday Speech – ready-to-use Espresso resources exploring personal, social and emotional topics.
  • Reading Resources – including a special wellbeing article from children’s magazine The Week Junior.
  • Health and Relationships – a complete suite of resources to help teachers deliver the primary RSHE curriculum. Health and Relationships explores child mental health through several different topics, including Coping with Change, Happy Friendships and Healthy Bodies, and Healthy Minds.
  • Sandbox ARDiscovery Education’s Bett Award-winning Augmented Reality app features a new immersive experience in which pupils can create a virtual world in which to explore and meditate.
