Wake The Tiger’s new London attraction, ABSURD CITY, gives students the opportunity to step inside their lessons
This autumn, teachers seeking a different kind of school trip will have a striking new option. Wake The Tiger, the certified B Corporation behind an award-winning Amazement Park® in Bristol, is opening ABSURD CITY at Westfield London. From Thursday 15th October 2026, schools are invited to bring learning to life inside its walls.
The walk-through experience allows schools to teach topics that are closely aligned to the national curriculum, with a particular focus on English, Science and Art. Teachers can explore subjects such as media literacy, sustainability and the circular economy through a visit to a parallel future, 70 years from now, bringing depth to classroom discussions.
Students will have the opportunity to step inside these themes as they move through unfolding landscapes, secret passageways and unexpected discoveries.
“Children ask the most propound questions and we believe that they deserve spaces that take those questions seriously,” says Graham MacVoy, CEO and Co-Founder at Wake The Tiger. “ABSURD CITY was built to meet that curiosity head-on, using culture and storytelling to explore complex ideas and imagine what a better world could look like.”
Lucy Jarjoura, Chief Commercial Officer at Wake The Tiger, who has curated the education curriculum for ABSURD CITY adds, “We want children of all ages to be able to approach difficult topics like the consumer economy and media literacy with curiosity rather than fear. Our aim is to help them better understand the world they live in by comparing it to a parallel world many years in the future. The visit is designed to instil hope and for any learning to stay with them long after they leave the park.”
Taking over an 80,000 sq. ft. space, ABSURD CITY becomes Europe’s largest immersive art experience when it opens. It expands the parallel world of Meridia, first created at Wake The Tiger’s flagship Bristol venue, which has welcomed over half a million visitors since 2022 and built a strong following among school groups.
ABSURD CITY is suitable for all ages and abilities, making it accessible for a wide range of year groups and needs. Its self-paced format gives teachers flexibility over how classes move through the space.
