About Into Film Careers
Into Film is the UK’s charity for film and education. Our Careers programme supports educators and young people with free resources, industry encounters and opportunities that open up routes into the screen industries.
With National Careers Week approaching, February brings a small number of high-impact resources, events and opportunities designed to support young people exploring careers in the screen industries. Each highlight is classroom-ready, easy to plan for, and suitable for revisiting throughout the academic year.
This month’s highlights
Save the Shoot: Careers Challenge – new careers resource coming soon
Launching 23 February, Save the Shoot is a free, classroom-ready film production careers resource for ages 13-16.
It introduces students to the realities of film production through a series of short, practical challenges based on a fictional film, Granny’s Got a Jetpack.
While the activities are set within film production, the focus is on transferable skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, communication and creativity. These skills apply across all careers, making it suitable for whole classes or year groups with a wide range of interests. Ideal for drop-down days, enrichment weeks or quieter points in the year.

Explore Filmmaking, Screenwriting, and Adaptation with Hamlet: Shakespeare for All
To mark the release of Hamlet, in cinemas February 6, Into Film have collaborated with Universal Pictures to present a free resource exploring the creativity and craft of filmmaking, screenwriting, and adaptation.
Hamlet: Shakespeare for All is an inclusive resource for use with students aged 15+. Using the film’s trailer and an exclusive clip, students will develop their comparative analysis skills, practice the close study of British film, and gain insight into screen careers.

Story Builder: Sports Broadcasting (Ages 11-14)
Developed in partnership with TNT Sports, this new resource helps learners aged 11-14 explore careers in sports broadcasting. It links literacy, media, PE and careers learning, and works well for students interested in both on-screen and behind-the-scenes roles.
Pathways into the Screen Industries webinar
Date: Wednesday 25 February 2026, 16:00-17:00
This session, for careers professionals and educators of 11–18-year-olds, focuses on the different pathways young people can take to pursue careers in the screen industries including academic routes, apprenticeships and training programmes, and direct-to-industry routes (via entry level roles).
By the end of the session, you will have increased knowledge on each pathway and be more confident in advising students based on interests, personal circumstances and aspirations.

Join a wealth of partners for an afternoon of sessions focusing on careers in screen, encounters, experiences and getting into employment.
The day will include a tour of Great Point Studio and a session with One Stop Shop, BFI Skills Cluster, and Sgil Cymru exploring pathways, training and skills development in the Screen Industries.
The Into Film Awards 2026
Entries for the Into Film Awards close this month at midday on 23 February. Taking part helps young people build creative skills and explore career interests, with winning films showcased at a national celebration.
