CAREER SUPPORT

Students record information on their greatest achievements, key experiences, enriching hobbies and special interests to their online CV+ portfolio, keeping information organised and safe in one place to reduce stress at application time for both students and teachers. Students can upload video, files, weblinks and testimonials as well as text and imagery to create online articles ('posts') which can be converted to PDF and automatically laid out like a magazine article. Alternatively, posts can be shared by weblink to cover letters, UCAS applications, email, social media- anywhere! This use of different media types caters for students with practical interests, as well as those confident with writing, and showcases the student's content like nothing else can. Content is tagged with the relevant skills to create an organised database of content by skill, as well as educate on the link between the individual and their personal skills as valuable for employability. Confidence and pride palpably grows in the classroom with CV+ as students tackle their fears around applications and the world of work.

For too many young people, their start in life is limiting their future. They do not have access to the knowledge, tools and networks to help them understand what they can achieve or how to get there.

We want to see every state school and college in the UK supported by a thriving and engaged community of alumni and employee volunteers, who can act as relatable role models, showing students what their path to success could look like.

The model is simple and we know it works.

Young people are given access to opportunities, alumni and employee volunteers can develop their skills and employers build a talent pipeline.

We manage these relationships through our Future First Hub – a safe, social media style interface that allows schools to build and manage every aspect of their volunteer network in one place. In this way, our digital is so much more than technology – it supports in-person, virtual and online volunteering.

At Progress Careers, we pride ourselves on raising the bar of careers advice and guidance to ensure that schools and their pupils get the very best level of CEIAG possible. It's how we do this, though, that makes us so valued by the schools we work with. We take the time to truly understand what each school needs from their careers partner, where they need us to enhance their existing provision and where we can add the most value.

We then get to work. Our eclectic bunch of Careers Advisers are full of passion, knowledge, and expertise. They are all qualified to Level 6 in Information, Advice, and Guidance (or working towards this), meaning really know their stuff when it comes to careers education, information, advice, and guidance.

As part of our careers service, we offer face-to-face careers guidance. Through a meticulously designed 5-phase framework, our advisers ensure that every student receives personalised CEIAG tailored to their unique needs and aspirations. All our schools that receive face-to-face guidance also have free use of our digital careers app, iProgress, giving them easy access to reporting and tracking while providing students with 24/7 access to careers guidance.

In addition to careers advice and guidance, our passionate team also support schools in achieving the Quality in Careers standard.
