Free Resources to Help Build a Resilient, Confident Classroom This Term

A new season, a fresh start: these free PSHE resources are designed to help pupils build confidence, resilience and self-esteem from day one.

A new school year is the perfect moment to help pupils build the confidence and resilience they’ll need to take on new challenges. Premier League Primary Stars has released a set of free, football-themed PSHE resources designed to do exactly that.

Play the Right Way

This resource encourages pupils to champion positive football behaviours at playtime and beyond. An inspirational film introduces the Premier League Primary Stars Values, before pupils learn practical tools for managing their behaviour on and off the pitch and put it into practice with the Values Challenge.

Resilience

Created with the Harry Kane Foundation and England captain Harry Kane, this pack helps pupils shift their mindset from “I can’t” to “I can.” Through a series of activities, pupils explore their mental and emotional wellbeing, learning how to bounce back from setbacks and recognise the power of positive thinking.

Building Self-Esteem

This resource helps pupils understand what self-esteem is, what can affect it, and how to build it – through practical tools such as accepting mistakes and positive self-talk.

“Self-esteem is becoming quite a problem in primary school, so having a resource linked to the Premier League and everything that this represents acts as an excellent starting point to engage pupils.”

– KS2 PSHE teacher

All three resources are free to download: Play the Right Way, Resilience, and Building Self-Esteem.
