Parent Zone has partnered with the Raspberry Pi Foundation to deliver free teacher training to help students understand how artificial intelligence (AI) works.
Experience AI is an educational programme that teaches students aged 11-14 about AI and machine learning, helping them build the knowledge to use AI tools responsibly.
For the first time, UK educators and schools can now register for training to deliver the Experience AI lessons in the classroom confidently. Teachers will be shown how to use the free resources grounded in research, including lesson plans, slide decks, videos, student activities, and assessments. This free professional development opportunity is a new initiative funded by Google.org, following a successful pilot of Experience AI in the UK.
The training – aimed at all teachers – will be offered throughout 2025, including in-school and virtual twilight sessions. There will also be sessions available at the Google AI Campus in London.
Building a confident generation of innovators
AI plays a huge role in the world young people are growing up in, and this partnership will support UK educators to teach the next generation of AI innovators.
Experience AI, developed by the Raspberry Pi Foundation and Google DeepMind, supports teachers in the exciting and fast-moving area of AI, and gets young people passionate about the subject.
The programme introduces students to the foundations of AI, helping them to become critical and responsible users. There are also sessions on AI safety, including protecting your data and being aware of misinformation online.
