One of the world’s most spectacular immersive experiences has arrived in the UK, bringing human history to life like never before.
London’s newest immersive cultural experience, TIMEWALK, is now open at Immerse LDN at Excel Waterfront, inviting visitors to journey through 12,000 years of human history in a spectacular multi-sensory adventure.
Created by the award-winning experience experts “DEM Museums”, TIMEWALK regenerates the museum experience, transporting visitors through some of history’s greatest ancient civilisations using breathtaking visuals, cutting-edge technology, immersive sound and cinematic storytelling.
Visitors go beyond viewing history behind glass and step into extraordinary ancient worlds recreated at full scale, where cities come to life , temples glow beneath the stars, monuments tower overhead, and everyday life unfolds in vivid detail.

The experience begins at Göbeklitepe, widely recognised as one of humanity’s earliest communal gathering places and among the world’s oldest known monumental sites, before taking visitors on a journey through the legendary worlds of Babylon, Ancient Egypt, the Maya and Rapa Nui. From sailing the Nile at sunset and walking through the ancient gates of Babylon to standing among the Moai of Rapa Nui and discovering the Maya’s extraordinary understanding of mathematics and astronomy, TIMEWALK brings the people, beliefs and achievements of these remarkable civilisations to life.
Grounded in archaeological and historical research and enhanced through cutting-edge technology, the experience combines spectacular visual effects, powerful soundscapes and spellbinding narration to create an emotional connection with humanity’s shared past. A 25-language audio guide further enhances the experience, making TIMEWALK accessible to visitors from around the world.
Designed for visitors of all ages, TIMEWALK transforms history into an unforgettable journey of discovery. With dedicated storytelling for children, interactive experiences, a hands-on archaeological dig, and opportunities to meet costumed historical characters, history comes alive beyond the pages of a book.

TIMEWALK has been created by DEM Museums, the internationally recognised team behind the globally awarded Hagia Sophia and Ephesus Experience Museums, with another immersive experience at Rome’s Colosseum also set to open. The London opening marks another milestone in the company’s mission to bring cultural heritage to life through immersive storytelling.
Mehmet Uğur Esin, Chairman of DEM Museums, said: “Our vision is to bring the stories of human history to audiences around the world through immersive experiences that transcend cultural and geographical boundaries. Drawing on 35 years of expertise in advanced visual and audio technologies, TIMEWALK brings the civilisations that shaped human history to audiences in the United Kingdom while marking the beginning of our long-term journey in this market. For us, TIMEWALK is not a one-off project, but the first chapter in a series of immersive cultural experiences we plan to develop in the years ahead. By bringing together content creation, exhibition design, technology integration and visitor experience under a single vision, we deliver world-class cultural experiences powered by end-to-end expertise—an approach that has been recognised with 15 international awards.”

Eda Bildiricioglu, CEO of DEM Museums, added: “With the respect we have for traditional museums, we use advanced, multisensory technologies to tell the story of history and we define what we do as experience museology. The core ambition of DEM Museums is to redefine how people learn history. We welcome over 10 million visitors annually to our experience museums globally and we’re excited to begin our story in the UK with the opening of TIMEWALK. This is the culmination of several years of development with a team of over 250 people, from historians and writers to architects, designers and technology specialists. DEM Museums is forging a new path in technology-driven cultural storytelling and TIMEWALK promises a brand-new experience for audiences, by physically stepping foot into the past and seeing 12,000 years of human history unfold and develop around them.”
TIMEWALK joins the growing line-up at Immerse LDN, London’s largest next-generation entertainment and culture district, which has welcomed more than 1.7 million visitors to date. The experience offers Londoners and visitors alike the opportunity to explore some of the world’s most influential civilisations in an unforgettable immersive format.
