To celebrate British Science Week (8th–17th March), E.ON has launched the New Energy Academy, a free and engaging educational programme designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and inspiration to lead the charge towards a more sustainable future.
With sustainability at the heart of science and innovation, this programme helps students explore the diverse and evolving world of green careers—from data science and AI to marketing and engineering—highlighting how science plays a key role in tackling climate challenges.
Empowering the next generation of green leaders
Through interactive lessons, hands-on activities, and inspiring videos, the New Energy Academy encourages students to see how science and technology can shape a cleaner, more sustainable world. Activities include:
- Building sustainable city prototypes
- Exploring green innovations in energy and transport
- Developing problem-solving and teamwork skills essential for sustainability careers
Teachers also benefit, with resources co-designed by educators to integrate seamlessly into STEM and PSHE lessons, aligning with the latest Gatsby Benchmarks.
Celebrating sustainability trailblazers
As part of the British Science Week celebrations, schools can take part in a special competition to highlight the sustainability trailblazers who inspire their students. Winning entries will earn:
- A visit from football legend Fara Williams MBE
- A live green skills workshop to help students develop practical sustainability skills

The New Energy Academy provides practical resources to support teachers and empower students to develop the skills needed to build a more sustainable world.
The programme is open to all secondary schools, offering free access to sustainability-focused learning materials.
