New durable designs launched at Bett 2026 feature military-grade protection, 15-hour battery life, and pedagogical flexibility.
Acer have announced the launch of the Acer Chromebook Spin 311and Acer Chromebook 311, two devices engineered specifically to meet the demands of modern teaching and learning. Unveiled at the Bett Show, these new models move beyond basic tech specs to prioritise what educators value most: reliability, student safety, and uninterrupted learning.
Recognising that technology is now a foundational tool for a tech-forward curriculum, Acer has built these devices to withstand the unique challenges of the K-12 environment while supporting personalised learning strategies.
Designed to Survive the School Day
The reality of a busy classroom involves more than just digital learning; it involves physical rigour. Both new models meet MIL-STD 810H military-grade testing standards, ensuring they can survive the inevitable bumps and drops of school life.
- Drop-Proof Performance: An internal honeycomb design and shock-absorbent bumpers protect the devices from falls as high as 122cm (48 inches)—standard desk height.
- The Spill-Resistant Keyboard: Accidents happen, but they shouldn’t end a lesson. A unique drainage system protects internal components from liquid spills (up to 330ml), routing water safely out the bottom of the chassis.
- Built to Last: Reinforced brackets and mechanically anchored keys ensure the hardware stays intact even with heavy daily use by young learners.
Empowering Students and Teachers
Beyond durability, the new Chromebooks are designed to enhance the pedagogical experience:
- All-Day Learning: A 15-hour battery life ensures students remain focused on their work rather than hunting for charging points. This is ideal for 1:1 programs where students take devices home for after-school enrichment.
- Flexible Learning Modes: The Chromebook Spin 311 features a 360-degree hinge, allowing it to transform from a laptop into a tablet. This is perfect for creative subjects, enabling students to sketch, take handwritten notes, or use the optional “world-facing” camera for science and art projects.
- Student Wellbeing: With optional TÜV Rheinland-certified low blue-light displays and Antimicrobial Corning® Gorilla® Glass, the devices are designed with the health and hygiene of the student in mind.
A Sustainable Choice for School Budgets
For school business managers and IT leads, the new Acer Chromebooks offer a reduced total cost of ownership. The modular design allows for quick, on-site repairs—such as replacing a keyboard or a USB port—minimizing student downtime and stretching school budgets further.
“Acer Chromebooks are more than just laptops; they are a bridge to 21st-century skills,” said James Lin, General Manager, Notebooks, Acer Inc. “By focusing on durability and ease of use, we are helping teachers implement personalized learning while ensuring IT departments can manage their fleets sustainably and efficiently.”
Aligned with many schools’ sustainability goals, the new models utilise recycled plastics and eco-friendly packaging, earning EPEAT registration and Energy Star certification.
