Anish Patel, school governor and Strategy and Data Lead at ParentPay Group:
“Whilst using AI for marking will help to free up teachers’ time, its potential in education extends far beyond this. Within schools, AI can serve as a powerful tool to enhance student engagement, drive responsive planning, and close the feedback loop at scale.
“When applied meaningfully, AI can also turn raw data into actionable insight that informs strategic decision-making across schools. For example, AI models can be leveraged alongside other outputs to help teachers in optimise classroom layouts and seating plans based on students’ individual and collective needs for more inclusive and effective teaching. In other use cases, it can also be leveraged to support assessment, enabling educators to better understand learner progress and adapt their teaching methods accordingly.
“Beyond the classroom, there is the opportunity for AI to derive insights from finance reports – making financial management more intuitive and efficient for school leaders. Whilst the opportunities for AI are vast, the key is moving beyond the buzz and focusing on what genuinely works in practice – ensuring AI adds value and makes an impact where it matters most. Crucially, as AI becomes more integrated into educational settings, it is essential to prioritise robust data security and privacy measures to protect sensitive pupil and school information.”
