The International Curriculum Association (ICA) has launched its subscription based professional development platform, icaPRO. For £5 per month, educators can take control of their professional development and access an ever-growing library of engaging content that has been developed by leading ICA educators.
The 2024 UNESCO Global Report on Teachers was published to outline some of the issues that need addressing if we are to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 of providing inclusive and equitable quality education. The report specifically states that in order to deliver upon SDG 4, teachers at all stages of their careers should have access to high quality continuous professional development (CDP) opportunities on a regular basis.
icaPRO is updated on a weekly basis and subscribers can access engaging and exclusive content that is curated for educators, by educators. The exclusive content will include video lessons, mini-modules, infographics, guidance, exclusive webinars, practical workshops, regular episodes of the new icaPRO TalkAbout Podcast and access to a community of global educators.
The content has been developed in line with the ICA Model for Improving Learning and is organised into five key content pillars. These pillars encompass Leadership, Research in Practice, Learning Cycle, Pedagogy, and Learner Agency and Action.
Speaking on the launch of icaPRO, Sarah Blackmore, Director of the ICA, said: “Pursuing continuous professional development is one of the most important aspects of being an educator and forms a key part of our strategy to Improve Learning, regardless of the curriculum you use in your school. I am delighted to have launched our new platform, icaPRO, which provides educators with an opportunity to unlock their full potential and gives them the tools to be the best educators that they can be. We have purposely set the price of icaPRO at £5 pounds per month to ensure that as many educators as possible are able to access the new platform, and we have been delighted by the feedback that we have already received.”
The ICA’s comprehensive Model for Improving Learning encompasses a suite of dynamic and rigorous curriculum materials which foster exceptional learning experiences, alongside impactful Professional Development resources and a supportive and empowering Accreditation pathway.
