As schools across the country prepare for Children’s Mental Health Week (9–15 February), Premier League Primary Stars has launched a suite of free wellbeing resources designed to help teachers support pupils’ emotional health in simple, age‑appropriate ways.
The materials – which include lessons, infographics and confidence‑building activities – are aimed at KS1 and KS2 pupils and align with schools’ PSHE and pastoral provision. They offer teachers practical tools to create safe, supportive spaces for children to explore feelings, resilience and self‑care.
Supporting children to understand and talk about mental health

Among the new resources is Healthy Body, Healthy Mind, a set of activities that highlights the connection between physical activity and emotional wellbeing. Teachers can use classroom exercises and movement breaks to help pupils understand how staying active boosts mood, reduces stress and builds resilience.
Complementing this is a collection of Mental Health & Wellbeing Infographics – colourful, child‑friendly visuals that explain emotions, coping strategies and everyday self‑care practices. These are designed for use in lessons, assemblies or corridor displays, helping whole schools open up positive conversations around mental health.

The Self‑Esteem resource offers a series of reflective activities to help children recognise their strengths, build confidence and practise positive self‑talk. By encouraging pupils to understand what makes them unique, the resource aims to develop emotional awareness and a sense of belonging.
Helping schools mark Children’s Mental Health Week
With mental health a growing priority for educators, the Premier League Primary Stars resources provide an accessible way for teachers to engage children in important discussions without requiring additional planning time or specialist expertise. They are designed to be flexible, inclusive and easy to slot into the school day.
The programme continues its longstanding focus on supporting wellbeing through sport, teamwork and positive role models – using the power of the Premier League to make important topics relatable for pupils.
